After making note of my lack of long runs early in the week, coach Hopfe and I decided that it would be good to get in a longer effort. I typically would not consider 13 miles a long run but it felt long today and my lack of endurance strength was again made evident reaffirming my notions to axe the 5k and stick with the mile. Also, in order to keep the foot feeling good I did about half of my run looping around a ~1/2 loop around a baseball field on a cinder type surface. That got old before I even completed a loop but for soft surfaces it was the only option. |
