Daytona Sidewalks
Workout day. Did 8X3min with 1 min recovery back and forth down the sidewalks along Big Tree Rd with a couple around the little league baseball field for some hot soft surface action. Fartlek's are a mainstay in the Daytona training regime. They're good because I've got limited access to tracks, especially during the week, and they give me a good effort without beating myself up. For example...on a track you're got times to hit and I'll easily overdo it to hit those times. Fartlek's offer a solid workout without pushing it too hard. That's the positive way of looking at it. In reality to make any break through you need that redlining experience. The fartlek is a nice thing to mix in but as a main stay it's not going to get me anywhere. |
