Atlantic High School Track
After being in Board review all day I made it over to the track at dusk half awake and still full from an enormous late lunch. Not exactly ideal. The plan was to get in some speed work since the previous Saturday I raced a 10k and then Wednesday got in a long workout giving me a couple of longer stuff but little turnover. I decided to do 5 X 1000m with the last 3 broken down to 600-400; 500-300-200; and 500-300-200. 2 min recover after the full 1000's and the next interval distance recovery after the breakdowns. Times were 2:46; 2:46; 94, 62; 78, 45, 29; 78, 45, 29. The 1000's felt much better than the breakdowns. I was hoping to go fast for the breakdowns overall and really had to work to do what I did. It was a long week and I wasn't in the best situation for running so maybe that explains the lack of speed. We'll see. |
