The plantar was a little looser today but apparently from my altered form on the previous day's run i was getting pain in the 3rd metatarsal bone area which is immediate cause for concern.  As the day went along everything started to feel better but there was still a slight pain in that area so I decided not to push things and to take the day off completely.  I iced it up real well and took some anti inflammatories and will reacess tomorrow.  If it's feeling better tomorrow then I'll assume it's not bone, which it probably isn't anyway, and I'll go ahead and race on Saturday.  If it's hurting on tomorrow's run attempt then I might be taking a few weeks off.  Lets hope it's the former.

Sorry to hear that I also am dealing with an inflamed tendon in my tibia right now. But I cut my mileage 30% and pace by a minute per mile. It is almost back to normal. The ice and ibuprofen were used 3x a day. I had that same injury that you have some years ago and its a tricky one. You will come back man. Just keep it cautious like your doing. Peace...

Plantar fasciitis put me out for 5 months last spring and summer. I also developed a groin strain on top of the PF, due to altering my form on the days I tried to run. It is definitely an injury that can snowball into other injuries.

Massage therapy really helped cure me. Good luck.

Thanks for the tips guys. I actually had this problem once before which is why I got so scared yesterday. I too noticed on my run 2 days ago when I hurt it that my form was altered and that afterwards my right hamstring was sore (opposite side of foot). Hopefully I'm just being paranoid though.
